Physician licensed in Argentina and Brazil · Founder of CareThere

About

Dr. Pietra Stanicki is a physician licensed in Argentina and Brazil. She earned her medical degree at the University of Buenos Aires and a master's in tropical diseases at São Paulo State University (UNESP), where she is now a PhD candidate.

In 2024 she founded CareThere, a practice that gives expats and travelers in Latin America medical care through online appointments and in-person visits. She has treated patients from more than 23 countries, in English, Spanish and Portuguese. She is also an in-network physician for GeoBlue, the international plan of Blue Cross Blue Shield, and one of very few in Argentina.

Telemedicine is her day job, and it's how many people now get naltrexone. For NaltrexoneReviews.com she checks our guides for medical accuracy: doses, side effects, drug interactions, and who should and shouldn't take it.

Research

She studies how HIV treatment works outside of trials, especially simplified two-drug regimens (dolutegravir with lamivudine) in older adults. She has published in the Brazilian Journal of Infectious Diseases and presented at Infecto 2025, MEDTROP and the São Paulo Infectology Congress. At Infecto 2025, two of her studies were among 48 chosen for oral presentation out of more than 1,100 submitted. Her PhD is a multicenter study in Brazil and Argentina of persistent low-level viremia in people living with HIV.

What a medical review covers

  1. Reads the guide against its sources

Doses, side effects, warnings and who shouldn't take naltrexone are checked against the FDA label and the studies the page cites.

  2. Flags or fixes what's wrong

Notes go back to our editors on the exact sentence, or the reviewer edits the text directly.

  3. Signs off

“Medically reviewed by” and the date appear on a page only after the reviewer approves that version.

Conflicts of interest

NaltrexoneReviews.com pays Dr. Stanicki for her reviews. She founded and runs CareThere, a medical practice for expats and travelers in Latin America, and is an in-network physician for GeoBlue. Neither is listed or ranked on this site. She has no financial ties to any naltrexone provider or telehealth company we list, or to any drug maker.

Sunflower Clinic is listed first in our provider directory because it’s run by the company that runs this site. How Featured works.
